Week 3
This week we are sorting, labelling, counting and displaying data.
We started by sorting objects in different ways.
| Sophia sorted the shapes by colour. |
| Francis sorted the shapes by shape. |
Weeks 1 and 2
To begin the year in mathematics we learnt how to do some mathematical activities which we will be able to use in our mathematics programme throughout the year. The strand maths we are studying is statistics, in which we are learning to conduct investigations.
We are learning to:
- ask and answer questions
- gather, sort, count and display the data discuss the results using mathematical language like 'the most','the least', "more than' and 'less than
- 'interpret the statements others make about the data
We will also look at the probability of things happening and discuss using language such as certain, possible and unlikely.
The first statistical investigation we carried out was- 'Are there more boys or girls in Room 15?'
this really needs an update :/
